Orange #5

This is a card I'm very pleased about :)  I absolutely love this La Blanche stamp, but I don't think I've used it before.  Because I didn't want it to become to busy,  I only colourd the flowers with distress markers.  The background is an Aladine stamp (mariage set),  stamped with Versamark.  The sentiment is from the Crafty Secrets set 'Glamour Girls'.

Birthday card for Hanka!

I'm really having a creative weekend :) . Although I have to admit this card was laying on my desk for a while, I only had to glue it together and add the sentiment.  It's a card for my nephew's daughter Hanka, who's birthday's coming up next month. I've used a Sugar Nellie stamp: Moon Beam. I'm actually pretty proud of the colouring. I usually end up way to dark, but with this one I've managed to keep the colours soft and the shadows are good visible. The papers are from Kruidvat and the sentiment stamp is Crafter's Companion.  Some dew drops finish the card.  I'm entering this one in the Sugar Bowl Challenge 108: anything goes.

Birthday card for Lauren!

October is a very busy birthday month in our family, so this will not be the last card I'll show you.  This one is for the daughter of my other niece, Lauren who's celebrating her second birthday this month.  I used the same stamp as I really fell in love with 'Birthday Fairy' from LOTV.  I also used the same paperpad as it was still on my desk.  The sketch came from the Papertake Weekly Challenge Blog, but I turned the square sketch #83 into a rectangle card. I didn't add embellishments, only a text stamp from Aud's Design.

Birthday card for Stien!

The little daughter of my niece is celebrating her first birthday next week, so this deserves a beautiful birthday card of course.  I've used a LOTV stamp: Birthday fairy. It's a stamp from an older collection, but I only recently bought it second hand and I'm really happy with it. I loved colouring it with my copics.  The sketch is from the current challenge on the Sketch and Stash Challenge blog. I've followed the sketch but changed the square shape into a rectangle and I also left the embellishements behind.  The patterned papers (which have some glitter, but it's not visible on the photo) are from First Edition 'Hideaway'.

Grid technique

The current challenge on the Belgian stamping group 'Creatief met Stempels' is the grid technique. I've had fun trying it out, so I've made 2 cards for this one: a christmas card and a birthday card. Today I'm only showing the birthdaycard on my blog. Because I don't want to spoil the surprise I'll show you the other card when my brother in law received it.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge 102

The last challenge on the Sugar Bowl Blog is 'Anything goes'.  This weekend I've created this card to enter it. Last week I really fell in love with this paper pad 'Hideaway' from First Edition. I've already coloured some images in this colour scheme and there will soon appear other cards.  The green dress look much brighter on the picture but in reality it goes well with the patterned paper.

2 new cards

I'm looking forward to April 6th, 'cause I'm going to Art Specially (a stamping event in the Netherlands) on that day.  But I still have some stuff I bought there last year and haven't used yet.  I'm trying to use it before the new event, so I can buy new materials without feeling guilty :)  For example: on this cards I've used 'new' stamps (sentiments) and dies (tags) from Crealies.

Birthday card

I started this card a while ago for a Sugar Bowl challenge, but didn't finish in time. It was just laying in my cupboard until last weekend when I finally glued it together and added the sentiment: it's YOUR birthday. I've used Basic Grey Wisteria papers (I think this is my favorite collection ever) and coloured the image with Copics. Her hair and the lovely dress make it a really nice image to colour and experiment with shadows. I'm actually very proud of this result!

Sugar Bowl Challenge 83

http://sugarbowlblog.blogspot.com

I really can't choose between cute stamps and other stamps. Just look at this fantastic Sugar Nellie stamp! I've made this card to enter Sugar Bowl's Challenge 83: I've turned the sketch around and made it rectangle, but I hope you can recognise it. I've used K&Company papers from the Lotus collection.

Some more cards

My mum and I both created 2 cards last Sunday. I think these are the nicest ones :) We both scraplifted the same card but ended up with a different result.

I used Basic Grey Pyrus patterned papers and my mum chose an embossingfolder for the background.

Birthday cards

Last Sunday we didn't have any plans and my mother suggested we could make some cards. I think I succeeded in my mission to turn my mother into a cardmaker :) It's really so much nicer to do this together!

The first card is my try to make a simple birthday card. It seems easy to create a simple card but I'm having difficulties to find the right balance between simplicity and decoration. I think this card is heading in the first direction and still misses something.

The second card is my mum's creation. I think she can be proud of the third card she ever created.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge 62

http://sugarbowlblog.blogspot.com/2011/06/challenge-62-marlenes-sketch.html
For this card I've used a card kit I won on Erica's blog (www.scrapaliciouscards.blogspot.com) during a Simply Sassy bloghop. I love the Sugar Nellie stamp 'Laid back dude', Basic Grey Marjolaine papers and some embellishments. I usualy find it difficult to create cards for males, but it's a great kit for these. I've added some buttons, papers and a Penny Black sentiment stamp.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge 53

http://sugarbowlblog.blogspot.com/

I think this is my first entry in the Sugar Bowl challenge. I just had to ink my new stamp! I absolutely love this 'pillow talk', but it was quite difficult to colour it nicely. My first two attempts went completely wrong with the shadow on the dress. The third time, her hair was way to dark. The fourth time I was happy with the result, but the blue didn't match with the patterned paper I had chosen. So this is the fifth image that made it on my card :) I'm happy with the result and would like to hear your idea about it!

My supplies:
- Sugar Nellie 'Pillow Talk' stamp
- Marianne Design 'Eline's Vintage' sentiment stamp (it says "it's your birthday" in Dutch)
- Cricut Mini Monograms cartridge
- Basic Grey Wisteria patterned papers (leftovers from this layout)
- Flowers: don't remember where I bought these
- Copic markers: skin: E50-E51-E93; hair: E31-E33-E35-E37; dress: B60-B63; pillow: Y21-Y28-YG91
