Merry Christmas!

Door tijdsgebrek heb ik niet veel variatie in m'n kerstkaarten dit jaar.  Dit is het tweede model waar ik best wel fier op ben!  De technieken zijn eigenlijk dezelfde als op de vorige kaart.  De achtergrond werd met distress inkt gesponsd, nadien gesprayd met water en een gesso-water mix en tenslotte achtergrondstempels van Penny Black en Magenta.  Daarna 'merry christmas' van Hero Arts gestempeld met Versamark en geëmbosst met wit poeder.  De kerstman is van Stampers Anonymous en heb ik gewoon uitgeknipt en er op geplakt.  Als afwerking heb ik een rand gedoodled.

Ik ga gewoon verder met de inhaalbeweging op m'n blog en ben ondertussen aanbeland met m'n kerstkaarten van vorig jaar.  Ik begin direct met eentje waar ik zelf heel tevreden over ben. Een pagina uit een boek werd bewerkt met gesso , daarna gewoon bestempeld met zwarte inkt en ingekleurd met copics.

Because this challenge is quite something for me, I prepared myself well with some shopping in Crafts & Things in Antwerpen :)  This large stamp 'Christmas Story' from Penny Black is one of the things I bought in September.  It's the first time I've used the stamp and I absolutely love it!

Oldie but a Goodie Challenge (till 10/12/2012)

I still have to make a couple of christmascards, so I've kept this one simple.  I want to enter it for the Oldie but a Goodie Challenge: Let it Snow.  The hedgehogs on their sledge are an old Penny Black stamp from the set ' Christmas Critters', coloured with pencils.  The sentiment stamp is from Marianne Design 'Eline's Vintage Kerst teksten'.  The patterned paper is from a (cheap) paper pad from Kruidvat and the last supplies I've used are the Spellbinders.

Birthday cards

Last Sunday we didn't have any plans and my mother suggested we could make some cards. I think I succeeded in my mission to turn my mother into a cardmaker :) It's really so much nicer to do this together!

The first card is my try to make a simple birthday card. It seems easy to create a simple card but I'm having difficulties to find the right balance between simplicity and decoration. I think this card is heading in the first direction and still misses something.

The second card is my mum's creation. I think she can be proud of the third card she ever created.

Another simple card

This card didn't turn out the way I wanted, but I guess that happens sometimes. Maybe it's because I'm not used to this simple style. I used Colorbox ink for this card. The flower stamp is from Prima Marketing and the sentiment is from Penny Black. It's not good visible on the picture, but there are two lines created with a needle.

Verjaardagskaart

Mijn oudste zus verjaart morgen, dus heb ik een kaartje voor haar gemaakt. Op dit moment heb ik eerder een scrapbookperiode, alhoewel zich dat (jammergenoeg) niet echt uit in een heleboel afgewerkte layouts. Ik ben er met verschillende bezig en hoop er tegen het weekend toch eentje te kunnen tonen. Maar eerst dus dit verjaardagkaartje. Ik had niet zo veel inspiratie dus is het simpel gebleven.

Since I only recently started stamping I remember my first Penny Black stamp very well. Although I like them a lot, I only got two of these great stamps. Starting stamping is pretty expensive, but I'm planning on expanding my collection very soon.

I still like this one a lot and have used it on several cards. I used Kim's card as inspiration for this one. I don't know for which occasion I will use it, so I didn't put a sentiment on it yet.
